Lose Weight With Smoothies!

Donna loves smoothies and has found that by choosing a fiber-filled smoothie with protein instead of a big breakfast or a big lunch she can cut down on the total daily calorie consumption while increasing her nutrient intake. She shares a few of her favorite smoothie recipes below.

Energy Boosting Chocolate Smoothie

1 cup non-fat Greek yogurt

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

2 tablespoons peanut butter

1 banana (I prefer a frozen banana)

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Ice and cold water

Blend in a blender and enjoy!

Anti-Aging Fruit Smoothie

1 to 2 cups of frozen berries such as blueberries (in season) or your choice

1 cup lowfat chocolate milk

1/2 cup green tea

Blend in a blender and enjoy!

Full-Body Revitalizing Smoothie

1 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt

1 cup soy milk

2 tablespoons Silken Tofu

1 tablespoon ground flaxseed meal

1 tablespoon almond butter

1 cup canned yams

Ice and cold water

Blend in a blender and enjoy!

Spinach Shake Smoothie

Thanks Dr. Oz!

Handful of spinach

½ banana


3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 scoop vanilla whey protein

Blend in a blender and enjoy!

No More Bloat Smoothie

This recipe was shared by fitness trainer Brett Hoebal on Dr. Oz.

1/4 cup pineapple

1/4 cup papaya

1/2 pear

1 tablespoon flaxseed

1 teaspoon ginger

1 cup water

1/2 cup ice

Blend well and garnish with 2 mint leaves!
