Are Kid's Foods Advertising Health Claims Really True?

Flour Prices Predicted to Rise in 2007

Try the easy recipe below:



*** Mary Ann shares this time a cookie recipe that works for her family and two sons who have food allergies.***


Mary Ann Colegrove, Registered Dietitian shares:

1 cup flour (can try mix of white and whole wheat)

1 cup Shortening (I often use 1/2 cup Olivio spread for no trans fat and the rest butter also with no trans fat but high saturated fat. I have also used one cup of Olivio before) ( Or you can add 1 cup blenderized garbanzo beans and less shortening)

brown sugar (can use less. I think cup is enough)

3 Tbsp water

1 tsp. Vanilla

tsp salt

1 egg

3 cups oatmeal ( I added another cup when I added the beans that were blenderized)

cup to package of chocolate chips or raisins

In large bowl measure first 7 ingred. (or do wet ingredients in blender with pureed chickpeas then transfer to mixing bowl)

With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until well blended. With spoon stir in oatmeal and choc. Chips or raisins.

In Pre heated oven bake at 375 degree.

Bake 12 min.
