Whey Protein Smoothie Recipes

What is Whey Protein Powder

Both casein and whey protein powder mixes are a dairy product and come from milk. Casein is a milk protein isolate known as caseinate and takes longer to digest than whey.

A 2007 study in Amino Acids journal found the combination of both casein and whey to be more effective in improving body composition and muscle strength.

Whey protein powder is the most common protein powder sold. It's easily absorbed and helps build and maintain muscles. The isolate form is more easily absorbed but is typically more expensive.

If you are lactose intolerant or have milk allergies, remember both casein and whey protein come from milk products.
