Spring for these delicious, seasonal foods.

With more people cooking at home, more people are looking for some help in the kitchen. Specifically, in the "ideas for what to serve" category.

Cathy provides lists of foods to keep on hand to make throwing a meal together that much easier.

1. Veggies & Fruits

Fresh cherries

Asparagus

Rhubarb

Spring onions

Baby spinach

Green peas

Lettuce

Strawberries

2. Grains

Brown rice

Quinoa

Barley

Wild rice

Whole wheat pasta

Oats

Now, let your taste buds be your guide as you mix and match! Here's one idea to get you started:

Asparagus and spring onions sauteed in olive oil are terrific tossed with whole wheat pasta and a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese. Don't forget to add lots of crushed black pepper.

Ingredients:

2 slices whole grain wheat toast

1 whole smashed banana

1/2 teaspoon of vanilla

Mix banana and vanilla together and smear on the toast...MY KIDS LOVE THIS!!!
